Most of the creatures I write about on Mythfolks come from ground level, down-to-earth-folklore rather than the big mythologies - they're the weird beings that people in the not-too-distant past actually believed in (and in some cases still do today!). So even though the main categories sound familiar, the characters within them are probably less so.

This broad category of creatures and beings features paranormal entities from across the world.

Some are pure evil, others are tragic and some exist to protect certain places or things. Visit here for short stories & overviews.

Fae & fairies

These creatures are specifically from Celtic and Germanic folklore and although they vary in type and motivation, they are generally amoral and often dangerous. Far from the dainty, sweet fairies often portrayed in modern pop culture!
